I have a strange problem. We are running SAS 9.1.3 SP4 for testing purposes on a windows laptop. In Windows we created an odbc connection to oracle. We tested the connection and there were no problems. We were able to read the oracle data in Excel.
The next step was to make a connection to ODBC in SAS. This should be very easy but we have strange errors. In EG (version 3 and 4) we were executing the following statement:
LIBNAME ora_stdb ODBC DATASRC=stdb USER=username PASSWORD=password ;
After executing the statement we received the following error :
ERROR: CLI error trying to establish connection: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLAllocHandle on SQL_HANDLE_ENV failed
ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement.
I don’t know why I receive such an error. If I run the same statement in LOCAL SAS there are no errors at all. I can open all oracle tables without any problems.
In the sasmanagement console I receive the same error after trying to import the metadata.
