basic table

I am trying to create a basic table using SAS Base/EG 3.0 that should be interactive. For e.g. I want to calculate the mailing quantity based on previous mail quantity and the response rates.
i.e. NewMail = OldMail * ResponseRate

So to find out the new mail quantity, I just need to change the OldMail and Response Rate. This would be the basic step, and I want to add more calculations in the future. I know this is possible in excel, but I want this in SAS. Could somebody pls help? Thanks.

Re: basic table

I'm not sure about EG 3, but in EG 4 you could use the Filter & Query object for this. I suggest that you'll take EG class, also available in the e-learning program.

Re: basic table

The process Linus described is also available in EG 3.x .

However, that is not how I read the question. I heard a need for near real-time data transformation (change the value in the data, hit tab, and the new value pops into another field). EGuide is not designed to do that. It is a client-server architecture (even if EG and the SAS server are both local), so those sorts of data transformations are not supported. You can set up parameters so that the changed values are requested at run-time, but it's not the same as being able to make the same style of data manipulation that you can in Excel.
