XML Mapper - File Read In Size Limitations

Hi all,

I am trying to import a large file into the XML Mapper, but I have file limitation issues. I am on version 930.

How can I increase the allowable size format to read in the data?

I appreciate your assistance,

Lucille

Sorry, its not clear to me what the question is.  What file limitation issues are you facing?  Is the file an XML file, or is it from something like Excel?

Well, your best path of action is to import the CSV file, far simpler than messing around with XML and XML mapper.  Can you not proc import it directly - or better still write a datastep to import the CSV file?

problem is, I was using the XML mapper to provide the schema to me.. I unfortunately do not know the schema.

Erm, how will the XML mapper mapper know something you don't?  If you really don't know your data (and are prepared for anything coming from that data to fail) then use proc import.  That will guess your column names,  lengths, types etc.  Really not a good idea, but up to you.

Re: XML Mapper - File Read In Size Limitations

To add to @RW9's suggestion use proc import on the CSV file and use a large value for the guessingrows option.

proc import datafile="C:\temp\test.csv"
     out=mylib.mydata
     dbms=csv
     replace;
     getnames=no;
     guessingrows=32767;
run;
