Utility File not found (proc sort error)

Hi Folks,

Kind of a newbi here, I have been using SAS for about 6 months and lately I keep running into this error:
"Utility file not found"

All of my other code runs fine and I have narrowed the problem down to this command:

proc sort data=regstep4.registry2003_04
out=regstep4.registry2003_04_s1;
by ID STARTDT;
run;

The weird part is that I know this command works on a dataset that has fewer fields (ie the tow tables are nearly identical in terms of number of records, but one has 2 extra columns of data). When my co-worker runs this command on his PC, he gets no error (he has more RAM) - could this be a RAM issue?
I am running SAS9.1 TS Level 1 M3 if that means anything.

Please help me resolve this before I throttle myself.

Re: Utility File not found (proc sort error)

A workaround is to use TAGSORT. Don't ask me why! {=^)

proc sort data=regstep4.registry2003_04
out=regstep4.registry2003_04_s1 TAGSORT;
by ID STARTDT;
run;
