Hello there,

We had two new employees start recently with SAS EG 8.2 and they are experiencing an error when running SAS EG Projects.

They need to manually open the file import properties in the process flow and point it to the location it is already saved/stored before running the projects otherwise they become a sea of RED and process breaks.

We have eight (8) other employees that are using SAS EG without this error so we don't have any knowledge on the cause/solution.

We previously had problems with the auto-save function storing data on local machines instead of the shared drive but we now have all new hires turn that off when they begin.

Any and all ideas are welcome as the process was fairly optimized until this problem presented itself.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it but seeing there are no reactions, an I recently had some trouble with imported files in EG 8.3, why not give it a try.

In the properties of the imported file, what SAS server and Library do you use? I had the problem that my SAS server went tot 'local' automatically for imported files. And that gave some trouble because we all work in the WORK lib on the SASApp server. Maybe switch something up with the file storage location and see if the problem still exists. (I ended up hiding the whole 'local server')

If I didn't understand correctly and you are using files on the server itself, try 'opening' (unfold?) the directory untill you see the table in the server pane. Then run.

That's all I can suggest, good luck!

Thank you for the ideas here. We think we may have diagnosed it and sadly I don't get to blame SAS anymore. It appears that it's tied to a shared directory permissions error. It was cutting off the file directory path which is why it needed to be relinked every time.
