I am trying a run a regular program in SAS using

proc sql;
connect to oracle(user=&userid. password=&passwd. path= preserve_comments);

Got an error like:

ERROR: Error fetching from cursor. ORACLE error is ORA-19011: Character string buffer too small.

Query looks good and I ran it every week. This time it throws me this error, not sure where to look for in the SQL query.

Apparently program didn't stop, it ran and got the results.

Either someone changed the definition of the object you are querying, or your results are now exceeding some  limits.

See this Stackoverflow question about that error message.  Perhaps your query has similar conversion going on.

Can you post the rest of the SQL statement as it'll be much easier for us to give an informed response to your issue?
