This is about opening the same EG project twice.  Normally we should see a warning message " You will not be able to save the project because you do not have write access to the project file or the folder where it was opened" and the second session will be read-only.

Just recently, some of our users lost this feature.  when they open the second session of the same project file, there is no warning and the session can change the file.  it caused a bit trouble when two people opened the same project file saved in a share folder.   Does anyone have idea how to enable this feature in EG?

Hi @DavidXu2016

Which version of SAS Enterprise Guide are you using (Help => About SAS Enterprise Guide) and what happens if the first session which opened the project tries to save it?

Are you in the case described with Problem Note 60650 (Unable to save SAS® Enterprise Guide® projects that are open by another user in "Read-Only" mode) ?

Cheers,

Damo

Where is the project being opened from?

1. The local file system?  (This includes remote shares via UNC paths.)

2. The SAS server file system?  (ex. View->Servers->SASApp->Files)

3. View->SAS Folders?
