I'm attempting to import multiple csv files into SAS Enterprise Guide (all with similar names but different dates at the end) from an external file location (f:\folder) and combine them into the one master file. I have a number of files sent to me each week, and I was hoping to create a program that would import all files in the folder, no matter how many there are.
Since I'm relatively new to SAS, I’ve found the MULTIFILEIMPORTERWIN9 program on the SAS support site (http://support.sas.com/kb/8/710.html) that should be able to do it for me. However, it is having issues because I get the following error messages:
ERROR: Insufficient authorization to access PIPE.
ERROR: Error in the FILENAME statement.
According to "Problem Note 17271" (http://support.sas.com/kb/17/271.html) this is because using a DUMMY device in a FILENAME statement causes an error in Enterprise Guide. Apparently the circumvention is to use a TEMP device in the FILENAME statement, but I still can't get it to work. I think this could be because the code uses the FILENAME statement through the program, but I'm not familiar enough with SAS to know what else to change. Can someone please tell me how to change the MULTIFILEIMPORTERWIN9 program to get it to work in Enterprise Guide?
Thank you all very much for your help.
