I do not have the "local connection" option under connections in SAS meaning I can not export or save any data in the process. HELP. Why is this happening.

You only get a "local connection" if Foundation SAS/Base SAS is also installed on the same computer along with EG. Check in the Windows Control Panel to see if it is installed or not.

BTW you can still export/save data without a local connection. Please provide more detail about the type of export or save data you are trying.

If your goal is to get SAS data sets to your local PC, try Tasks->Data->Download Data Files to PC.
