How can I import a word document in EG 4.1?

The word document is a case study with 172 pages having 20 questions for each member? I would like to save the answers from 172 members. any suggestions?

Some suggestions.  There is no magic bullet.

  • you could save the Word document as an XML file and use the XML engine to read it.  If the data are nicely formatted, this may work.
  • you could save the document as text and parse it using the data step.  This involves messy coding, but I have done it successfully.  It is rarely portable.
  • If the answers are in a table in word, you could copy them into Excel and read that.
