Being new to SAS , All I have done sofar is downloaded SAS university edition and launched SAS Studio.

I am learning the training module "

SAS(R) Enterprise Guide(R) 1: Querying and Reporting (EG 7.1) "

For this I need to use SAS Enterprise Guide Software. Please let me know how to use SAS university edition to do the below exercise.

Set Up Practice Files on Your Computer

    1. Open this zip file and extract the contents to any location you choose on your computer. When you extract the files, a folder named ECEG171 is created that contains data files.

    2. Navigate to the ECEG171 folder and verify that it contains sample files.

    1. Start SAS Enterprise Guide. In the Welcome to SAS Enterprise Guide window, select New Project. If SAS Enterprise Guide is already open, select the New tool New tool and then select Project.

    1. Select FilethenSave Project As from the menu bar or select Save Project Save Project on the toolbar.

    1. In the Save Project To window, select Local Computer. Navigate to the location where you want to save the project.

  1. Type Employees in the File name box, and then click Save.

You will use the Employees project to do the practices in this course. As you work through the practices, you create a separate process flow for each lesson in the course.

SAS University Edition and SAS Enterprise Guide are different products. I don't think, that you can get a licence for SAS EG for free, but i am sure someone will correct me, if this is wrong.

Are you registered for the course via your work or elsewhere? If you've purchased the course you should be able to access it via SAS Academics on Demand which will allow you to use EG.

Otherwise, there is no free version of EG. If you want to learn SAS programming, which will work inside EG anyways, the free e-course is also available.
