EGuide is part of the Base SAS distribution on Windows.  You can't use EGuide without having SAS to do the actual computations.

You can get SAS Enterprise Guide for free as part of SAS OnDemand for Academics -- when you are enrolled in a course that uses it.

And aside from SAS Enterprise Guide, you can use SAS University Edition -- a downloadable version of SAS that uses the SAS Studio application as the main interface.  Any learner can download and use it for non-commercial purposes.

As far as why there is not a general free version, that is a business decision that you won't get an answer for on this forum.

Check with your company.  Unless SAS has changed its license, if you are covered by your company's license and your company allows it, you can load the licensed software on as many computers as you want (including a home computer).

The license is user not station specific.  As I recall, a user is only allowed to access SAS on one computer at a time, but can have copies on as many computers as desired.

Hope so I will get it that.
