How to extract Monthly logins from Login date and time from server log?

I have data set consists of login data of teachers and students of a school of a learning management tool. Each record has 4 fields - user id, date of login, time of login and whether the login was successful or not. The record is of a teacher if the user id has “TCHR” as the 3^rd to 6^th characters. I want to get the login data i.e. teacher/student logins in each month (total monthly logins). Can someone please help me how to get these details in SAS enterprise miner?

Create an additional variable that contains the year and month (newvar = put(date,yymmn6.).

You can then do a proc summary with class userid newvar;
