Hi, does anyone have any insight on an approach to binning multiple variables with mixed data types - for example: variable A can take the value A, B, C, D, E or any number 1-1000 - I've seen approaches that directly bin numeric or character variables but not one that deals with both types in one variable - any ideas? thanks
Maybe you can use RANK() to transform them into ASSIC code ,and bin them according to your rule .
Thanks Xia, but I'm unfamiliar with ASSIC code - do you have an example?
Sorry to confuse you . Use Rank() you can transform all these character into numeric value ,like 23 34 65 ...
This approache can directly bin your mixed-data like it is numeric .
