Hi All,

Can any one list the test strategy for migration and upgradation for SAS suite 9.1.3 to 9.3.

It includes SAS EM, SAS STAT, SAS SMC, Middle tier.

Hi Tushar,

Thanks for your reply. Paths you have indicated that are for migration and upgradation but this helps somewhere round the clock.

I am mentioning, what i have tried for test strategy. Looking for your input.

** Mentioned notes are not specific to any client/Project, These are only assumptions, if these matches to any specific project or client document, that would be only fictitious.

·         Installation and configuration of middle tier and SAS Enterprise Miner server

·         Installation and configuration of SAS EM 12.1 for all desktop users with middle tier (if desktop)

·         Installation and configuration for SAS management console for all user of  E miner client

·         SAS Enterprise Miner from 5.2 to 12.1

·         Differences on installing 32 bit or on 64 bit

·         SAS Management console 9.1/9.3

·         Access of Admin IDs (sasadmin, sasdemo, sastrusted) for server and software

·         Settings for user’s id / Local admin ids

·         Unix Server, Metadata Server and other required servers

·         Database access, Path and Libraries

·         Configuration of SAS Enterprise miner in SAS Management console

·         Data profiling (if required)

·         Testing for all modules  in scope for 9.1 to 9.3 for SAS Suite

·         Registration of tables with SAS and Server including libraries

·         User Migration (user access) from DB2 metadata link to SAS

·         IDs creation, Port connection and Metadata set-up

·         SAS Unix server connection with database

·         Job Scheduler (if exists)

·         File system paths like what and where program, database and logs

·         IMR generation in case of failure

·         E-mails generation in case of success or failure of job/project

Thank you again...i can assume that we are working on a same platform.....
