Hi huys

I have a character variable which is 18 numbers long and want to convert to numeric.

When using the inout function the value is changing. Can anyone advise the best way to do this?

Many Thanks

Jamie

Yes.  Don't!  You can't go beyond 16 digits on a pc or 17 on a mainframe.  Take a look at: http://support.sas.com/techsup/technote/ts654.pdf
