Hi All, I am trying to retrieve all observations where the text 'Beautiful' appear within the observation value. My problem is the text 'Beautiful' sometimes appear as lower case (beautiful) and sometimes at the beginning and sometimes in the middle of the sentence.

This is the code i wrote and they are not working (both sas and sql). can someone help please. Thanks,

/*Following code bring everything except when the word 'beautiful' appear in the middle of the sentence*/

data out;

set have;

where desc like ("%Died%");

run;

Following code doesn't work at all.

following code

proc sql;

create table out as

select * from have where desc in ("%Died%");

quit;

You can try and subset the data set with a FIND() function and use the modifier that ignores case.
