Hi
When I create test1.txt file in SAS Unix with UTF-8 encoding and when I tried to FTP the same file using FILENAME encoding=’UTF-8’ , its not FTP’ing the file in UTF-8 format. Please help.

Depending on options FTP may translate things. Did you do a text transfer or a binary transfer?
I did both and got same results

So what is happening instead?
What does your code look like and your log?
file is transferring succefully but the the file is in ascii format
instead of utf-8

If you have the authorization, SAS can execute command line statements.
