Looking for ideas to deal with this dataset

[ Edited ]

Hi everyone,

I have a dataset attached below presenting the evaluation to hospitals from patients by three categories.

Since this data is not the first hand raw data, I'm wondering is that possible to find out how do these three variables impact patient rating the hospital.

My ultimate goal is to find out which is the most sensitive variable (or combined effect) that would affect a patient giving the highest rate (score 9-10).

I screen shot the data here, in reason of the SAS data is not allowed to be attached here.

I'd appreciate if anyone could give some ideas. (not necessary to demonstrate the whole procedure, idea is 微信图片_20180111003555.pngeno微信图片_20180111003639.pngugh 微信图片_20180111003617.pngfor me thx)

Many users here don't want to download Excel files because of virus potential, others have such things blocked by security software. Also if you give us Excel we have to create a SAS data set and due to the non-existent constraints on Excel data cells the result we end up with may not have variables of the same type (numeric or character) and even values.

Instructions here: https://communities.sas.com/t5/SAS-Communities-Library/How-to-create-a-data-step-version-of-your-dat... will show how to turn an existing SAS data set into data step code that can be pasted into a forum code box using the {i} icon or attached as text to show exactly what you have and that we can test code against.

Re: Looking for ideas to deal with this dataset

Hi,

I'm currently using SAS 9.4, I didn't find 'Edit AutoExec File' in my SAS

So how am I supposed to add the program into my SAS.

And I also noticed SAS file with sas7bdat extension is not allowed to be attached here.

You may be posting in the wrong area and want "Base Programming".

I am not sure why you are mentioning "Edit AutoExec file". That file usually contains code that you want to run at the start of each session of SAS.

If you are using SAS 9.4 then the you would type programs into the Program Editor window, or is there something else going on that isn't clear. Or are you actually using Data Integration Studio with 9.4?

Part of the restriction on file types is that even with the same extension contents may not be readable by others due to things like language and character encoding (I don't deal well with Chinese for example).
