The most-read recent topics in the SAS Customer Intelligence forum have to do with implementing SAS Real Time Decision Manager. So when I was scrolling through papers presented at SAS Global Forum, this one caught my eye, How to increase revenue in only 4 months with SAS Real Time Decision Manager. It's by the marketing analytics manager at a Chilean telco that saw great results when its team combined SAS Event Stream Processing and SAS Real Time Decision Manager as part of a real-time contextual marketing system.
"Just sending automated outbound campaigns periodically may be an inefficient task because it does not cover needs from customers in the right moment," the abstract says. "Although a set of predictive machine learning models may help to improve response rates of these outbound campaigns, it is not enough to be more proactive in this business."
The abstract goes on to say the two SAS solutions are configured such that targeted, appropriate responses can occur in just 5 seconds.
