Platform Overview – successful, introductory “road trip”

Pietari Koskela presenting in OsloThis fall SAS did a road trip to the 4 Nordic countries with the event; 3-hour Platform Overview. SAS Sr Customer Success Manager  and FANS coordinator Pietari Koskela from Finland did the presentations in all countries and summarizes below. 

From 2018 SAS went from SAS Intro Tour to Platform Overview, from a workshop concept to presenting by talking through videos and explain along the way. It is shown as a more effective way of demonstrating the most used SAS tools.

With 100 people attending across the Nordics, both from customers, partners and SAS, and all new to SAS or curious about the Platform, the feedback was very positive. The audience asked many questions and were very active during the sessions.

It was great to also see new faces, alongside those we know well from earlier and meet regularly. It is important to FANS and SAS to attract new users and younger users, and to get a good mix of people, ages, and professions - and thus enabling better discussions and broader network opportunities.

For newcomers to SAS, some thought it was a bit overwhelming and somewhat too technical but found the general overview of the solutions and the impression of what SAS can offer very valuable and as a good starting point.

2020 program

For 2020 we will continue with Platform Overview in each country, and for the first half-year the dates are:

• Sweden: March 3^rd
• Finland: March 5^th + June 3^rd
• Norway: April 27^th
• Denmark: April 28th

Registration will be ready online from mid-December.

Future sessions – improvement and changes

We always appreciate input on content and format and are positive to make changes into the existing Platform Overview.

Some might feel it is too much content in a short time. We also consider adding some live demos and maybe having two presenters with different roles throughout the session. We have also discussed making shorter versions as webinars.

There is always room for improvement, even though this has been a success. Nothing is decided on yet – so stay tuned!
