Turns out a lot. That a player's jersey number correlates with market value is just one of the nuggets we pulled out from the zillions of 2014 FIFA World Cup stats, and dropped into SAS® Visual Analytics. Here is a teaser from the Slide Share presentation that tells more:

The tournament may be over, but the statistics are just getting started. Plus, with the return of many professional leagues like Bundesliga and MLS this month, we know you’re likely hankering for more football. So we built this presentation as a continuation of our popular World Cup visualization series.

You’ll see all the interesting ways to use SAS Visual Analytics to tell a story. You’ll learn more about what really happened, at a nuts and bolts level, at the 2014 World Cup and find answers to questions like: “Did we really see more goals in 2014?” or “What put Germany on top? Is covering the most distance key to scoring the most goals?”

Check out the Slide Share and then come back to talk about it! Have you done any cool football analysis yourself? What inventive ways have you used (or would like to use) SAS Visual Analytics? We welcome your comments below.
