Making models available in Git from SAS Viya just got a lot easier! SAS Model Manager 2021.1.4 stable release includes enhanced Git publishing. Now you can select a Git directory path and folder, or create a new folder, directly from SAS Model Manager when you want to commit your model to a Git repo.

The following video demonstrates how easy it is to publish SAS and open-source (Python/R based models) to Git.

Publishing to Git was added to SAS Model Manager with the 2020.1.1 stable release. This feature allows runtime model code files to be written to a user’s selected Git repository. These include all code files needed for execution and all selected descriptive files. Use this set of files to deploy into any existing SAS or MAS environment, or to seed a custom SAS container process.

Publishing models to Git is an option when you want to access runtime files outside the SAS Viya environment. Users can leverage these files to develop CI/CD pipelines to deploy models registered into SAS Model Manager to runtime environments using tools like Jenkins and GitOps.

This video walks through how easy it is to create a new Git Publishing Destination.

For more information about using SAS Model Manager publishing destinations, refer to the SAS Model Manager: User’s Guide documentation. For information on how to configure Git Publishing Destinations go to this link. For a helpful example on how to create the necessary domain ID and  a Git publishing destination using a Python notebook, go to this example on our Model Manager Resources GitHub.
