When you go to see the latest James Bond movie, you expect action from the very beginning. You don’t want a slow intro, and you certainly don’t want to spend the first two hours watching a documentary about how the movie was created.
The same goes for demos and presentations. Your audience wants to see the ‘money shot’. They want to know how they will get value from your software or solution—and they want to see that as soon as possible.
It follows that you should not start your presentation or demo by explaining how you have created the dashboard, or what you did to get the results.
Instead, show your audience the final results: the outcome for them. Show them how the software will be valuable, or what they will gain. This is what they want to see. If they ask, then of course you can demonstrate how you did it, but only if they ask.
