Did you miss the Ask the Expert session on SAS Visual Analytics: What’s New in 7.3? Not to worry, you can catch it on-demand at your leisure.

 Watch the webinar

This session gives you a quick, convenient overview of new functionality and enhanced features of the software’s latest release. Learn about the updates in SAS Visual Analytics 7.3, including giving you the ability to:

  • Access sample tables, reports and an exploration from the home page (if you have SAS Visual Analytics Explorer).
  • Import data from a Pivotal HAWQ database.
  • Print content that does not appear on the screen.
  • Specify the default appearance of SAS Visual Analytics Viewer.

Here’s a sampling of the questions in the Q&A segment held at the end of the session.

  1. How do we access Environment Manager? Is this included with SAS Visual Analytics 7.3?

You should be able to access the Environment Manager from a web address that is configured as part of the SAS Foundation and SAS Visual Analytics installation. If you do not see it check with your administrator.

  1. What kind of ESRI support you have under 7.3?

Visual Analytics is mainly using ESRI as the mapping background.

  1. Will the VA upgrade cost require additional license fees?

Upgrades are covered as part of your renewal, so there is no additional license fee for an upgrade.

  1. I am missing some icons on my SAS Home (ie: Data preparation, Report Viewer). Why is this? I am the admin and have all privileges.

It may have been deleted somehow. Double check the settings, home, application shortcuts settings to see if they are not set up for your home page view.

  1. Is it true that with the Classic view in VA 7.3 you can export, but not in the modern view?

Yes, that is true.
