How do I create an output data set?

When you import data or run a query in SAS Studio, an output data set is created. Some predefined tasks (such as the Rank task) also create output data sets. In SAS Studio, these output data sets open on the Output Data tab.

How do I handle Microsoft Excel files in University Edition?

The new ODS EXCEL statement enables you to create Microsoft Excel files that are compatible with Microsoft Office 2010 and later. For more information, see SAS Output Delivery System: User's Guide.

 

What are enhancements to SAS/STAT procedures in University Edition?

  • The new SURVEYIMPUTE procedure imputes missing values of an item in a sample survey by replacing them with observed values from the same item. Imputation methods include single and multiple hot-deck imputation and fully efficient fractional imputation.
  • The GLIMMIX procedure provides the multilevel adaptive Gaussian quadrature algorithm of Pinheiro and Chao (2006) for multilevel models, which can greatly reduce the computational and memory requirements for these models with many random effects.
  • The LOGISTIC procedure fits the adjacent-category logit model to ordinal response data.
  • The POWER procedure supports Cox proportional hazards regression models.
  • The LIFETEST procedure performs nonparametric analysis of competing-risks data.
  • The MCMC procedure has been updated with new sampling algorithms and an ordinary differential equation solver. It now easily fits dynamic linear models, state space models, and autoregressive models that require lagging and leading variables.

Is SAS Studio trying to emulate SAS EG? How about improving the programming interface?

Thank you Beverly! I have just started looking at SAS studio since sadly we are going to lose SAS desktop soon due to SAS's pricing policy, so more comments to come for sure, since you so kindly insist...  :smileyhappy:

I did speak to Chris about the limitations I disliked in EG a few years ago when he came to Sydney.

When I fist saw SAS Studio in San Francisco in 2013, I was hoping that a modern replacement for the DMS was being built, even with some IDE functions. Instead I see it is "dumbed down" with wizards galore. Not what I was looking forward to (not that what I was looking forward to matters).

I posted a first page of comment about SAS Studio's data browser here a few days ago.

To be honest, I am now a bit sceptical and doubt my inputs are of much use to SAS. Some features that have been requested for decades by users, like usable error message line numbers when using option mprint, or a way to halt a program without generating an error.

But the optimistic side of me means that I have still posted a few ideas here to be submitted to popular vote, and will continue.

SAS Studio, like SAS Enterprise Guide, continues to get new features that are meant to appeal to both SAS programmers and non-programmers. With SAS Studio as a browser-based application, there are limits on what can be done to create a powerful programmer IDE – but these limits are being stretched every day thanks to browser enhancements and developer innovation. 

We do listen to customers, and R&D implements features that customers ask for. While there are many examples of this, there are also numerous good ideas that haven't made it into the products yet. Keep the ideas coming, @ChrisNZ! We appreciate you.

Hi

 

Is there a way to impute missing values with mean,median or mode in SAS University Studio using the options under Data (i.e tasks -> data) or is the only way to impute is to write my own code?
