IT Resource Management (ITRM) aggregation tables are a collection of accumulated statistics that are organized as summary or simple as specified in aggregation transformations.

The ITRM aggregation transformation creates and updates the majority of all ITRM metadata objects and physical SAS tables and does so with each and every run of the Aggregation jobs that contain these transformations.  As such, this document proposes a best practice of which the physical tables created by the aggregation transformation be backed up prior to running the aggregation job such that they are available for restoration to quickly recover from the failure of any run of an Aggregation transformation; thus avoiding a more time consuming restoration of an IT data mart.  The document introduces a tool for backing up and restoring physical aggregation tables named the ITRM Backup And Restore Facility for Physical Aggregation Tables.
