Series: Learning Legends – Real People. Real Stories. Real Learning.

Today we shine the spotlight on Viktor Saede, a dynamic and passionate SAS trainer based in Sweden. Viktor's journey with SAS is a testament to the power of curiosity, adaptability, and a genuine love for teaching. His story is not just about imparting knowledge but about inspiring a new generation of SAS learners.

From Intern to Educator

Viktor's journey with SAS began as an intern in consulting. "I started as an intern actually in consulting. In PSD. And then I moved to education when my internship ended," he recalls. This transition was not something he had initially planned. It was a chance call from a previous salesperson at Swedish Education that set him on this path. "She sort of called me up and was like, are you interested in education? Like, is that a thing you would consider? And I hadn't really thought about it, but I said, you know, why not?" Viktor's openness to new opportunities and his natural ability to speak in front of people made him a perfect fit for the role.

The joy of teaching

For Viktor, teaching is not just a job; it's a source of joy and inspiration. "Ideally 8 hours of sleep and a nice cup of tea. It also helps when I have something fun to do in the day. So if I'm going into teaching, that sort of gets the adrenaline pumping," he shares. His enthusiasm is palpable, and it's clear that he finds great satisfaction in his work. The challenges he faces, such as managing large classes with diverse backgrounds, only add to his sense of accomplishment. "Managing that is definitely probably the biggest challenge. There was also a person in that class who was deaf. We had a sign interpreter, which was a very interesting experience," Viktor explains.

The power of in-person training

Viktor is a strong advocate for in-person training. "In-person training is so much more enjoyable on many levels. You get the sort of day-to-day interaction with people in between, you know, during breaks, during lunch, which is a more pleasant experience than just sitting on your own," he says. He believes that the personal interaction and immediate feedback make a significant difference in the learning experience. "In the classroom, you know, you get all the attention, you get all the questions they have," Viktor adds.

Quick on his feet

One of Viktor's unique selling points is his ability to think on his feet and provide quick, accurate solutions. "I think I'm really good at being a bit quick on my feet when they have specific questions. So I think I'm quite, quite fast in processing what both what they're looking for and more specifically, you know, what are they actually looking for," he notes. This skill is invaluable in a classroom setting, where students often have a wide range of questions and needs.

The Future of SAS Learning

Looking ahead, Viktor sees exciting changes in the field of education, particularly with the integration of AI. "With more and more advanced translation tools, I'm not sure if we're quite there yet in terms of them being completely usable, but more advanced I think. We are going to be able to quite cheaply localize things". This adaptability and forward-thinking approach are what make Viktor a standout in the SAS community.
