Goal seeking (which incidentally always makes me think of the critical “Seeker” position in Quidditch – but I digress) is one of my favorites of the new features in SAS Visual Analytics 7.1. In the latest version, you can perform visualization-driven scenario analysis on forecasts.

Scenario analysis includes what-if analysis, but more importantly, it allows you to directly modify the forecast goal. As the goal changes, related parameters are automatically adjusted to show the changes required to achieve the new goal.
