Attention, educators! Did you know that SAS Academic Programs provides case studies that you can include in your courses? Each case study is designed to challenge students to solve an applied problem using analytical and software skills and can be an aid for assessing a student's understanding and application of SAS skills. Students can tackle these real-world challenges using free academic software platforms, SAS OnDemand for Academics and SAS Viya for Learners.

Some case study examples include:

  • Purchase Prediction for Big Organics LTD (SAS Visual Analytics)
  • Traffic Accidents in the Netherlands (SAS Visual Analytics)
  • Using Reports to Drive Production Decision for Insight Toy LTD (SAS Visual Analytics)
  • Machine Learning in Healthcare (SAS Visual Analytics / SAS Visual Statistics)
  • Analyzing MAESD Student Dropout (SAS Programming)

To access any of our case study materials, register for the SAS Educator Portal, and check out the video below to learn where to download these materials!

First, click the Browse Instructional Resources button on the Teach SAS tab. Next, click the View Classroom Activities button. Scroll down and click on the Projects & Case Studies button on the left side of the window to view the available case studies. Click on any item of interest to download the instructional materials.
