Hi, all. The way SAS University Edition should work for you is this:
We want you to be successful in your study of SAS and your use of SAS University Edition! Thanks to @mansoorabubakari14_gmailcom, @Cedmachiavelli, @fbpinheiro, and the always-helpful @Reeza for their contributions to this thread.

Running OS X Mavericks as well, no issues here using VMWare.
Mine doesn't say local host though, but the IP above.
Also, try that address before you start up VM to see if it's already in use.

Hello I'm having a similar problem here.
I'm trying to run the Learning version of SAS (University Edition) and getting problems getting to the online software. I am using a Windows 8.1 laptop with Chrome browser, have downloaded and installed VirtualBox 4.3.12 and installed the SAS University Edition vApp.
After that I can start the SAS University Edition virtual machine and get as far as trying to connect to http://localhost:10800/ as the VM advises, however my browser will then change the URL to http://localhost:10080/SASInformationCenter/index.html but just displays a blank page instead of the SAS Studio option.
I would really appreciate any advice that you might be able to give me in resolving this issue,
P.S. Also tried emailing firstname.lastname@example.org for help but the email bounced back with address unrecognised.

Thanks Reeza I also really appreciated your comment!
Though http://localhost:10080 was ok for me. I got as far as http://localhost:10080/SASStudio/
with the message " The launch of the server process failed with an unknown status code"
using Oracle VMVirtualBox 4.3.30 & Windows 7.
Switching to VMware 12 player worked for me. :-) :-)

thanks for the updated email address. I also tried running VMWare as suggested by Reeza (instead of VirtualBox) and it's working a treat! Really appreciate all your help,

I tried this method and it is working perfectly fine.
"Those who are facing the issue while running the url: localhost:10080 kindly turn off their system firewall and restart the sytem and than try again. Once it start working than kindly restart your firewall.
If this doesn't work try to disable the antivirus along with firewall in a disable state.
This definately going to work.
If it doesn't than kindly reply!"
