I sorted file ( 6 GB). Then an error has occurred .
What's the problem? I think lock of SAS-Universtiy-Edition which temporary folder of virtual machine limits about 10 GB.
SAS Universtiy Edition
VirtualBox (virtual harddisk; 100GB) (I operated in VMware player. same results)

When sorting a 6GB file, you need 18 GB of disk space.
6GB for the original file.
~6GB for the utility file
6GB for the new file (if you use out=) or the original .sas7bdat.lck file
Only when you're done, the space for the original file and the utility file is released.

I think my hard disk is enough for operation.
Harddisk is 2TB...
The default virtual harddisk of SAS university edition is 10 GB. So I enlarged virtual machine (VMware and virtualbox) up to 100 GB.
But not operated... So I thinks temporary folder size of inner virtual machine (cannot changed) is limited until 10 GB....
maybe limitation of universtiy edition...

And consider that SAS UE is a learning tool not intended for "production" data. 6GB is very much beyond an example case.
