Whenever I tried to download the SAS university edition for VMWARE,
I get the "permission denied" message.
And I found out that this is a very frequent problem among users.
I googled all sorts of solutions to this problem
I get the same result.
I tried it this morning, I tried it this now. Same result.
I'm currently living in South Korea.
I found that the "Virtualbox" edition downloads fine,
BUT I need the VMWARE version on my mac.
Can you guys give me some other solutions..? PLEASE

Possibly you might be able to download the vm workstation player from: https://www.vmware.com/in/company/office_locations/office_korea.html

Hi, @skye. The error message you received indicates that either you tried to access the online store for SAS University Edition during a maintenance time, or there may be another issue with authorization.
What I would suggest is that if you have another browser installed, you try using that to download the SAS University Edition file. You can also try clearing your cache. Or you could also do a Shfit-Refresh to fetch the page when you see the "Permission Denied" issue.
The SAS University Edition file is about 2.1 GB and has a ".ova" file extension. As another poster indicated, there is not a separate OVA file for VMWare and VirtualBox. Since you are a Mac user, I'd recommend using VirtualBox.
I hope this helps!

Personally, I find Oracle VirtualBox problematic, but it's free.
I use the paid version of VMWare on my Mac.
If all else fails you can try using the image on AWS if that's an option. If you've never used AWS it's free for first year and then costs after.
