SASUniversity folder shortcut to pc folder

Greetings!

How can I create a folder shortcut to a folder that is on my PC (e.g., c:\data\sasStuff) but not in c:\SASUniversityEdition folder.

I need the syntax for the following window:

new folder shortcut

===============

Name: sasStuff

Folder Type: SAS Server Folder

Directory: c:\data

The above syntax is not working.

Sincerely,

Mary A. Marion

No, the folder can be anywhere, I just tested it.

I created a folder called SAS under a different folder on my machine.

I added it to my VM in the sharing settings.

It showed up in the Server/Files/Folders Pane

I right clicked Create>Library. That shows you the path, but I created the library using the point and click as well. You can click the enable always button if desired.

I then used library as a normal SAS library.

Once the sharing is created you can also create library via syntax. The path is case sensitive.

libname temp '/folders/myshortcuts/SAS';

Re: SASUniversity folder shortcut to pc folder

Same instructions as setting up the myfolders. Create a shared folder in the VM.
If you navigate to it under Folders tab on left hand menu and right click>properties and find the path you need to provide.

Re: SASUniversity folder shortcut to pc folder

It would appear that the new folder I am creating has to be under c:\SASUniversityEdition\myfolders and therefore cannot be at c:\data\sasStuff?  I just need to know.

Thank you for your reply.
