SAS University Edition - not getting started

Hi All,

 

I have been using the SAS University Edition quite a while. But since today, I have been facing issue in starting the SAS University Edition.

 

I am using VMware Player to start the SUE vApp.

 

When I open the VM, I got the address to start the application. But on using the ip address, I am getting the connection timed out error. I tried it several times.

 

I have gone through all the related troubleshooting articles and also tried downloading it again.

 

I have attached the snapshot of the issue.

 

Please look into this issue and help me resolve it asap.

Hi @Sanyam!

 

Have you tried using VMware Workstation 12 Player? From your screenshot it looks like you have Windows 10, and older versions of VMware Player are not supported with Windows 10.

Downloading it again almost always fixes the error. I would try again, using even the same downloaded file. 

 

1. Delete VM image

2. Delete all SAS UE folders (myfolders, Application)

3. Readd image to VM

4. Set up shared drive

5. Try using SAS UE again, make sure your not using IE

6. It coud be a possible port conflict, you can try closing every other application except your browser and see if it helps. 

 

Unfortunately because the VM is locked down there isn't much support the Community can offer for SAS UE. You can try contacting SAS directly for help, via sasanalyticsu@sas.com

Hi Reeza,

 

I again followed the steps that you have mentioned and also I am using Chrome/Firefox as the browser but the issue is still not resolved.

 

So, I have written to sasanalyticsu@sas.com about this issue.

 

I will share the solution once I get the reponse from the SAS team.

Thanks for suggesting the solution to upgrade my VMware player to VMware Workstation 12 Player.

I am able to run SAS University Edition edition on Windows 10 using VMware Workstation 12 Player as suggested by SAS Technical Support Team.
