Libname SAS University Edition

Hi all,

I'm using SAS Studio through the oracle Virtual Box on Windows 8.1 and I'm dealing with the following problem:

60 %let projectDir = /folders/myfolders/;
61 libname edgar '&projectDir.edgar';
NOTE: Library EDGAR does not exist.
62 libname mylib '&projectDir.myLib';
NOTE: Library MYLIB does not exist.

 proc sql;
448 create table mylib.a_sec as
449 select
450 distinct cik, coname as edgarConame, filename as url,
451 date as filingdate10K, formtype,
452 /* creates counter */
453 monotonic() as downloadId
454 from
455 edgar.filings b
456 where
457 formtype IN ("DEF 14A");
ERROR: File EDGAR.FILINGS.DATA does not exist.

I'm trying to assign a library, however SAS keeps telling me that it does not exist, while in fact it should. Every directory I'm using is present in the "myfolders" section of SAS Studio, since I can't directly refer to my local disk. Nevertheless, it still won't work and thus it impacts the rest of the code, since I'm referring to the library I'm trying to make. Any ideas on how to solve this matter? I've been looking through several similar topics here, however I can't seem to find the right solution.

Help is much appreciated! Thanks in advanceSmiley Happy.

Re: Libname SAS University Edition

For macro variable references to resolve, they must be within double quotes

You are using

 libname edgar '&projectDir.edgar';

Better use

 libname edgar "&projectDir.edgar";
