I have downloaded SAS University Edition.
I have added SAS University Edition to VisualBox but I get the message: Unable to boot please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU when I launch SAS University Edition.
I have tried the following:
I had a look at the guest operating system in the VirtualBox Manager and see that it is ubuntu( 32bit). Should it not be 64 bit?
Also what went wrong and how to correct it?

Start over from scratch and follow the instructions exactly.
You shouldn't change any settings in the Virtual Machine.
If you still receive errors please post snapshots of the set up.
I'm also assuming you're on Windows. If you're on a Mac please see this forum for a message from @RandyMullis regarding using SAS UE on Macs, a recent update changed some default security settings that are causing issues.

I agree that you should delete the VM you have, re-import, try to start it, and then report back *without* changing any settings.
You can also contact SAS Technical Support at email@example.com or 1-800-727-0025 if you'd like.

It should have been RedHat so yes, that should be fine. If it's running that's the key test anyways
Glad you're up and running.
I have followed some instructions to select RedHat (64bits) on the VirtuaBox
Manager>Settings>General>Version dropdown and that seems to have worked. I
had a few more problems launching SAS University Edition which solved, so
now I am up and running. Is this OK?
