There are two means of communication between the host system (your desktop) and the UE virtual machine: the SAS Studio browser port and the shared folder. Other ports are not open, AFAIK.

If you're using SAS UE via a Vam you can either drop them in the shared folder, myfolders, created at set up phase.

Or create a different shared shared folder and use that, it can be almost anywhere on your computer pr accessible drive. Search the Analytics forum for examples.

hi

You can access files (for example CSV) directly using the FTP file access method.

See below an example (for a "readme" type file)

filename sugus ftp
  "aaa_readme.txt"
  host="ftp.cmdl.noaa.gov"
  cd="/data/radiation/baseline"
  user="anonymous"
  password="yourEmailAddress"
  PASSIVE
;

data _null_;
  infile sugus;
  input;
  putlog _infile_;
run;

Please also have a look at the following blog http://blogs.sas.com/content/sasdummy/2013/09/17/copy-file-macro/ by @ChrisHemedinger for more ideas to transfer files
