An absolute beginner

Hello SAS users,

I started using SAS univerisy edition few days ago and I really like SAS studio. It makes my life much easier.

I am wondering if I can use SAS 9.4 inside SAS studio. I have SAS9.4 at my university PC and I would like to use it through SAS studio.

Does it work? And how?

Thank you very much and happy new year.

MH

There are some limitations for UE, it should be in the documentation (support.sas.com).

You can't connect from UE SAS Studio to your local SAS installation.

And chances are that you local installation doesn't have the SAS Studio component. It requires SAS server components, like web app server.

Data never sleeps

SAS UE is essentially SAS 9.4 but through a different interface and possibly different licensing - for example your university may have SAS/GRAPH but UE does not.

Hello Reeza,

Thank you for your reply.

I understand your point, but my question is:

Can I operate the full version of SAS 9.4 (with all of its capabilties) through SAS Studio?

Thanks again.

Mostafa

Yes, with proper setup. If you dont have install privileges though I wouldn't worry about it, its better to learn SAS as you'll see it in many work environments. If you like process flow portion you should look into SAS EG.
