16.10 - 16.50 Is the water up to our necks? Or only up to our knees? - Modeling and Visualization of Water Level Changes at Lake Neusiedl using SAS Viya
The water level at Lake Neusiedl reached a critical value in May 2020 and another all-time low value in the summer of 2022 due to the low precipitation and high temperatures. This causes two crucial questions: how can the water household of Lake Neusiedl be described in a statistical model, and what are possible scenarios for the water level during the sailing season 2022? The presentation shows how these two business questions have been answered using SAS Viya. Data Preparation and Feature Engineering have been performed with SAS Coding in SAS Studio, analytical models have been built using SAS Visual Statistics and SAS VDMML, and a dashboard for displaying what-if scenarios has been built using animated SAS graphs and SAS Visual Analytics. The presentation also covers the requirements in predictive modeling to get the data ready for the final analysis and explains the importance of data preparation for data science and the interpretability of the model for non-analytical users.
The presentation is held by Gerhard Svolba, analytic solutions architect and Data Scientist at SAS Institute in Austria. (English)
16.50 - 17.00 Curiosity trip to Cary
Presentasjonen holdes av Pia Rønnevik, SAS Institute.
