Having problems creating tables on SQL Server

Hi...I am a relatively new SAS user and have used SQL Query Analyzer in my current position for the last two years. I am trying to create a simple table on SQL Server ('tempdb' database) but am being given the following error:

ERROR: Error attempting to CREATE a DBMS table. ERROR: CLI execute error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]CREATE TABLE permission denied in database 'tempdb'..

I have no problem creating tables in this database using QA, but SAS will not let me do it. I strongly suspect that I have a syntax issue. Thanks for your help!
