As the subject implies I have an issue where I get this error when I submit the following:

libname flowdata excel "C:\exceldata\Reports\Flows.xls";

ERROR: The EXCEL engine cannot be found.
ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement.

EVENTHOUGH we do have the SAS/ACCESS PC File format license and it is current.

Anyone have any suggestions to what is wrong ? UPDATE:
Forgot to mention that we are running 9.1.3

Can you share info about if/when the same type of code did in fact work on the same machine in the past? There is a distinct difference with having a SAS component licensed as compared to having the component installed on a particular machine. You can use PROC SETINIT to identify the installed product(s).

I susspect that some files were not loaded onto my PC when the software was loaded but I don't know how to verify that.

UPDATE:
I just tested it on my laptop, that supposedly should have the same installation that my pc has, and here is works.

I figured it out.
It was as I suspected, for some reason not all the access dll's were loaded to my pc.
To solve the problem I copied the /SAS/SAS 9.1/access/sasexe folder from my Laptop to the same location on my PC and now it works.
