One of our existing processes(desktop based) uses Microsoft Access as an intermediate data store - the problem is that our (Linux) server does not have visibility for Windows data sets - is there a way to use the Add-in to Microsoft Office to leverage the Windows data without having to scrap the existing code?

Not knowing what your code is doing, or how you are intend to use this data through SAS.

I don't think that the SAS add in can use this data directly. Excel can of course, but then you can't use SAS components directly on it.

Have you considered using a PC Files Server? I think this is the most straight forward way to get Windows data accessible from Linux/UNIX hosts.

Data never sleeps
