why am i getting errors on this proc summary command?

This is going to be embarrassing.  I am a beginner trying to learn SAS in my statistics class.  We are working on the cars data set and I have been spending a great deal of time trying to understand why I cannot get the code below provided by my teacher to work.  Can someone help me see what is wrong?

proc summary data = sashelp.cars;
class Origin Make;
var MSRP;
output out = MSRP mean(MSRP) =
Average_MSRP;
run
;

These are the errors I am getting:

Re: why am i getting errors on this proc summary command?

Did you copy and paste the code from another source or type it yourself?

Sometimes what appears to be text copied from other sources has characters that don't appear in the editor but cause issues.

I would try starting with an empty editor window and typing if you had copied it.

Wow that was embarrassing.  Thank you Ballard.  As soon as I copied into notepag I noticed some strange characters.  You are a genius!
