data

I use SASOnDemand for academics and there's an issue I have encountered:

1) I import data - data ouput window

2) I use data query tool to create new variables

3) The new variables I create appear in a new data ouput window and therefore I can't use them in regression analysis anymore

4) My question is how can I merge the data output windows or get the data including imported and created variable to show in the same data output window

Thank you!

Re: data

In that step include all your old variables as well.

Re: data

You can use them in regression analysis, point the analysis to the new table instead of the original imported data.

Re: data

what if I need to use explanatory variables that are in both original imported data and created data, can I still do for the same regression?

Re: data

That depends on how you create the new variables. When you do, make sure to bring along all the old variables then you can use them.

I'm assuming a lot of things here though, because you haven't provided a lot of information. More details on your problem would help.

Re: data

Reeza, so I have input data - all original variables, then output data - all created variables. How do I merge both of them so I can use both?

Re: data

How are you creating your output data? What types of calculation are you doing?

Re: data

I use query builder and all my new variables ( calculated off the original ones using simple mathematical operations )
