Dear All:

I hope to go through some of the examples in the SAS documentation.  Unfortunately, some of the data, the code says "...more lines...", making it impossible to replicate the results in the documentation.  The same is true for a lot of SAS User Group Papers.  Is there a central place to download all such data so that users can go through the procedure illustrated in the documentation if they want?  For example, I cannot find the data for Example 79.1 Modeling Salaries of Major League Baseball Players on page 6753 of the procedures.  Thank you -

Check your install.

In mine its at

C:\Program Files\SAS\SASFoundation\9.2\stat\sample

There all the programs from the examples are included.

The one you're looking for is called regex1.sas.

I've attached it as well.

I found a few places to look:

Check the SASHELP library.

Data sets for statistical analysis:

http://support.sas.com/learn/statlibrary/statlib_eg4.2/top_data.htm

More datasets will be contained in the links at:

http://support.sas.com/documentation/onlinedoc/code.samples.html

Thank you for your help, but the download function is deactivated for the first link, and the second link does not contain dataset for those used in the SAS Documentations...

I just tried the first link and successfully downloaded a dataset. You may have run into a temporary problem or have a security policy on your end blocking things.

I was able to download files from the first link.

Regarding the second link, you have to open each link and then look for the dataset. Many (if not, most) of the datasets will be data step statements described in the text at the link location.

p.s. Re: "link deactivated" -- you may need to shift-click to initiate the download, or right-click on the link and select the save option.

This link has the complete baseball dataset used in example 79.1:
