Using SAS Information Delivery Portal, Stored Process and Prompts

To All:

We are trying to create a pre-populated prompted screen with data extracted from an observation selected via the first prompt.  More clearly, we want to fill all the other prompt fields derived from the observation with the current values in those fields for display purpose. We will have secondary prompt fields where the user can update selected values for selceted prompt fields.

Does anyone have the code to do this?  If so, please send me a version.

Thanks

I don't know if this is exactly what you are looking for, but give this paper a try.  It talks about how you can set up a user interface where the user can input responses to questions on a screen and stores their answers in macro variables.  Those macro variables can then be used in your code to give the user some output as needed.

Hi:

The issue with the %WINDOW method is that the client applications in the BI Platform are "windowless clients" - -they communicate with SAS, but they do not have a window (like a Display Manager window) to display the %WINDOW prompts.

Most people either use the BI prompting interface "out of the box" with their stored processes or they build their own prompting interface using an HTML form or a .NET application or scripting language or webAF Java beans. There are some examples in the BI Developers Guide. And the SAS Stored Process Web App has some samples that you can try out.
