I didn't have much time as I presented at six sessions as well as helped coordinate one session and one seminar. I would think that from the SAS perspective the highlight would have been high performance computing. However the related topic of cost was never mentioned and I fear it will make the subject a non-topic for most of us.
The biggest highlight for me was meeting some of our colleagues. Many I already knew, but a number I met for the first time. I'm sure there are many I also saw but can't recall at the moment but PeterC, ArtC, FriedEgg, Cynthia, Fareeza, Chris, Rick Wicklin, Angela Hall, ForumAdmin (Renee), sashole and Patricia Aanderud were all there, as well as many I know from other forums like SAS-L and sasCommunity.org.
KSharp had a paper (that FriedEgg presented), FriedEgg, KSharp and I had a paper (that I presented), FriedEgg and I presented a paper that we did together, and I presented a paper that I had done with datanull and four of my SAS-L colleagues. All of those papers can be found at: http://www.sascommunity.org/wiki/SAS_Global_Forum_2012_Presentations
and I think they were fairly consistent with the other papers presented during the conference. Rather than there being anything new, it was more showing what one can do with the existing toolset. The papers I was involved with included regular expressions, hash, proc fcmp, and the intervalds system option.
If you want to get a flavor of actually being there, take a look at: http://blogs.sas.com/content/sgf/2012/04/27/sas-communities-meetup-an-insiders-view/
Both of those blogs summarize the Meetup we had, where Discussion Forum members got together with our colleagues from SAS-L, sasCommunity.org, sasProfessionals.net and the SASCanadaCommunity. I did the presentation for SAS-L and you can find it at: http://www.sascommunity.org/wiki/SAS-L_BOF

Thanks for the update. And really nice to hear how main contributors here in the Communities are also present at SGF. It kind of makes things more "alive" for me.
