SAS university edition issues

Hi there

I want to practice with datasets available online for advanced sas programming. I am unable to load the datasets in SAS university edition. It says following error

ERROR: Write access to member SASUSER.ADMIT.DATA is denied.

There are 99 of such errors. How to resolve them?

Thank you very much

@bluemountains, I have analyzed the program you posted and run. Results are attached.

There are 96 statements trying to create a new table in sasuser - near to the number  ERROR messages.

Look at the second result-table. Creating new tables is using

either "data sasuser."  (94 occurences)

or    "create table sasuser." (2 occurences)

You may try edit your program, after assigning an alternative library for output -

       try:  LIBNAME mylib "/folders";

instead sasuser, by:

repalce all "data sasuser."  into  "data mylib."

and edit manually the other 2 rows, searching for "create table".

If you have difficulties with some more error messages post the log of those step(s) and the error message(s)

Re: SAS university edition issues

Please explain in detail what you're trying to do.

SASUSER is locked down on SAS UE so typically you need to assign a different library instead.

Re: SAS university edition issues

You should use your own library.

Refer to this post to create your own libary

Where did you get this file? Are you taking a course? Is it from a book?

You need to provide more information so we can help/direct you.

Because some of the SAS items have been updated to reflect the increasing usage of SAS UE, and we could point you to new files.

If it's from a SAS book, check the authors page if it has an update. Otherwise you're stuck manually updating the program.

You need to first define a different library than SASUSER

and then replace SASUSER anywhere in the program with your custom library name.

If this is a SAS book or course feel free to contact SAS at support@sas.com to get an updated program.

If it's an external resource then their site admin should update their information.

In general, if you're trying to take an advanced course editing the file should be easy Smiley Happy

If you're entirely new to SAS consider the free e-courses and make sure to use the SAS UE version of the set up programs Smiley Wink
