I want to download10-K's for firms from SEC edgar website from 1998 to 2010 and save it in text format. Is there a SAS code which will help me in downloading the 10-k's in text format?

I may be mssing something obvious, but I'm not sure how SAS needs to be used here. The Edgar site has instructions on downloading text files from the web site via ftp.Under the section heading "Getting the Actual Text Files":
The indexes indicate the paths and names of the text files. For example, the index might contain the following file name and path:
To retrive this file:
ftp> cd edgar
ftp> cd data/100334/
ftp> get 0000100334-06-000121.txt
If you just have to use SAS to obtain the text files, there is an example is the SAS Knowledge Base that shows how to build and execute a ftp command from within SAS.

Thank you. I found a program online. According to the program, I need to download the url for the 10-k which is availble on SEC edgar and then I have to use PERL program to get the 10-ks.
